Pilz PILZ-772120 is a safety I/O unit designed as a configurable safety small expansion unit featuring potential isolation between module and system voltage with functional insulation, and a rated insulation voltage of 30V. It also has a rated surge voltage of 2500V. This unit is suitable for DIN rail mounting, compatible with 35mmx7.5mm top hat and 27mm recess width rails. It operates within an ambient air temperature range of 0 to +60°C and has a net height of 101.4 mm. The connection type includes plug-in/detachable screw or spring-loaded terminals, supporting 2 points per spring-loaded connection with a 9mm stripping length. As part of the Safe I/O module sub-range, it offers an IP20 degree of protection and requires a supply voltage of 20.4-28.8Vdc (24Vdc nominal; module supply) and 3.3Vdc (module supply via base unit). The housing is made of PC material, with a net width of 22.5 mm and a net depth of 120 mm. It can accommodate wire cross-sections ranging from 0.25 to 2.5mm2 for 1-core flexible with screw connection, 0.2 to 1.5mm2 for 2-cores flexible with crimp/TWIN crimp connector and screw connection, and 0.25 to 2.5mm2 for spring connection. The power consumption is 100 W for output external power supply, 2.5 W for output external power supply at no load, and 0.2 W from supply via base module. It is designed for storage in ambient air temperatures of -25 to +70°C and features 1 x digital output with a test pulse and a maximum output current of 4A for decentralized module supply. Protection functions include short-circuit proof and potential isolation, with a rated insulation voltage (Ui) of 30 V. The current consumption is 60mA from supply via base module, with a time delay of 15ms for maximum input delay and 5ms for switch-off delay. Power dissipation/losses are maximized at 4 W.
